Update from General Convention
In March, the Trustees of General Seminary submitted a resolution to General Convention which would grant our Board the unilateral ability to amend our constitution. This past Sunday, Resolution A139 was approved by both houses!
This is a small legislative change that makes a huge difference to the future of the Seminary. In short, granting our Trustees the ability to amend our own constitution gives General Seminary the freedom to engage in substantive partnerships and affiliations.
With this major step taken, we are that much closer to our affiliation with VTS.
Over the next several weeks our two boards will meet to iron out the final details of our affiliation. We hope to have more information to share by mid-August.
Your continued prayers are appreciated as we pursue this faithful and strategic partnership.
Yours,
Dean Michael
