Amazing Shakespeare on the Lawn
It was just incredible. The weather remained dry (even if a tad chilly). The performance was tight and energetic. The music was lively. The play “A Comedy of Errors”, of course, is a classic. Confusion arising because of twins running around Ephesus together. There were probably a hundred of so people from the neighborhood seated on the General Theological Seminary campus watching the play unfold before us. It was an amazing way to spend two hours on a Tuesday afternoon.
I am grateful to those who made this moment possible, in particular Ms. Jamie Tan and Ms. Kadine Madden. It is using the campus in an imaginative way. It is providing a service to the neighborhood. It was GTS doing some important work: the performance was an invitation to laugh and think - think about the extraordinary ways in which life can unfold.
I hope that we do this again. And for those who missed it, I recommend strongly that you don’t want to miss it next time.
