M.Div. Virtual Open House

Are you interested in vocational ministry in The Episcopal Church but unsure of how a theological degree fits into your life and work? GTS will begin implementing hybrid degree programs beginning Fall 2022. This program cannot exist without friends of General sharing this news with those eager to serve as lay or ordained leaders in their communities.

On Thursday, December 16 at 6pm Eastern, join GTS’ Distance Learning program director April Stace for a virtual open house. Learn about our hybrid program, hear from prospective students, and continue to discern if General is the place God is calling you. Register here for this exciting conversation. (If you cannot make this date, future open houses will be January 20 and February 17.)

Hybrid learning provides a rigorous, spiritually-formative, and context-affirming theological education. A hybrid model at GTS will include:

- Full tuition funded for the first 15 accepted Master of Divinity students for the Fall 2022 school year.

- Student access to synchronous and asynchronous instruction from GTS faculty.

- Week-long intensives three times a year at the Close in Manhattan, beginning August 29, 2022.

- Study beside committed mentors and gather with driven seminarians prepared to support you in your work of renewal and reconciliation.

For a long time, seminaries understood formation as something that can only happen in one particular place and in one particular way. That has led to, at times, a tragic disconnect between seminary education and actual, lived ministry. This is a rupture that we can address, in part, by lifting up and centering the diverse contexts of seminary students as meaningful, formational, and, in fact, our conversation partners and guides for teaching the art of ministry.

The Rev. Dr. April Stace
